Kerry Chandler ( född Kerri Camar Chándler ; född 28 september 1969 , East Orange , New Jersey ) är en amerikansk DJ och skivproducent .
Biografi
Chandler växte upp i en familj av jazzmusiker. Hans far, Joseph Chandler, var en DJ och introducerade honom för dagens variation av soul- , disco- och New York -undergroundmusik . Under ledning av sin far började han mixa skivor på Rally Racquet Club i East Orange, New Jersey , vid tretton års ålder. Vid fjorton års ålder började han öva i en inspelningsstudio och skriva musik på egen hand. [1] 1991 släppte Chandler sitt första spår "SuperLover / Get It Off" på Atlantic Records. Chandler har sedan dess släppt över 100 originalinspelningar. [2]
På 1980-talet var han resident DJ på Zanzibar-klubben i Newark , New Jersey, födelseplatsen för housemusikstilen känd som New Jersey-soundet , som kombinerar egenskaperna hos deep house och garagehouse . [3]
Tillsammans med olika utmärkelser och erkännande för sina enastående bidrag till housemusik de senaste åren, har Kerry varit på omslaget till Mixmag , DJ Magazine (Storbritannien och USA) och medverkat i den hyllade Resident Advisor The Hour podcast-serien. [fyra]
Han är grundaren av house- etiketten Madhouse Records , signerade Roy Ayers och Dennis Ferrer, och lite senare skapade han MadTech Records .
2016 grundade han sitt tredje bolag, Kaoz Theory, som inkluderar releaser från så kända artister som: Jamie Jones, Satoshi Tomie , Seth Troxler och The Martinez Brothers.
2017 uppträder Chandler på den berömda belgiska festivalen Tomorrowland .
Under 2018, för Sónar Calling GJ 237b-projektet, förberedde Chandler, tillsammans med 32 andra artister, speciella musikstycken som kommer att gå till stjärnan i Leuthen, varifrån jordbor har en chans att få ett svar under de kommande 25 åren. [5]
