Carnegie-medalj
Carnegie - medaljen är ett brittiskt årligt pris inom området litteratur för barn och ungdomar , utdelat sedan 1936 av Royal Institute of Library and Information Workers ( CILIP ) [1] . Priset är placerat i Storbritannien som "det äldsta och mest prestigefyllda barnbokpriset" [2] .
Uppkallad efter den skotske filantropen Andrew Carnegie . Endast engelskspråkiga böcker som publicerats för första gången i Storbritannien under året är berättigade till priset . Juryn består av 13 barnbibliotekarier från Ungdomsbiblioteksgruppen CILIP. Vinnaren av tävlingen får en guldmedalj och böcker till ett värde av 500 £ att skänka till ett av de valda biblioteken. Sedan 2006 har vinnaren även mottagit 5 000 £ Colin Mears Award [ 3 ] .

Från och med 2022 har 83 medaljer delats ut under de 86 år som priset funnits, priset delades inte ut 1943, 1945, 1966 och 2006 [4] .
