Sir David N. Cannadine ( eng.  David N. Cannadine ; f. 7 september 1950 , Birmingham ) är en brittisk historiker, specialist på det moderna Storbritannien och dess imperium. Professor vid Princeton, där han har arbetat sedan 2008 [5] . President för British Academy (sedan 2017). Utländsk medlem av American Philosophical Society (2019). Redaktör för Oxford Dictionary of National Biography .

Biografi

Växte upp i Birmingham [6] . Han utbildades i Oxford , Cambridge (där han studerade ekonomisk och social historia [7] ) och Princeton . Från 1975-1988 var han Fellow vid Christ College, Oxford University och undervisade vid Columbia University . Numera chef för Institutet för historisk forskning vid University of London, arbetar han som litterär krönikör i pressen, sänder i radio och tv.
