Walden Media

Walden Media  är ett amerikanskt filmbolag som producerar och ger ut barnfilmer baserade på litterära verk. Studion är mest känd för att ha producerat Chronicles of Narnia -serien av filmer baserade på berättelserna om Clive Staples Lewis . Företaget har sitt huvudkontor i Los Angeles , Kalifornien , med utbildning, externa relationer, pressrelationer och förlagsverksamhet i Boston , Massachusetts .

Historik

Walden Media grundades 2000 av Michael Flaherty, tidigare utbildning, och Cary Grenath, som tidigare var president för Dimension Films . För ett aktivt program för att hjälpa underprivilegierade studenter att få en kvalitetsutbildning kallade The Boston Globe Michael Flaherty för en "entreprenör inom utbildning" [1] . När Flaherty och Grenet en gång studerade tillsammans vid Tufts University skildes deras livsvägar, bara för att återknyta kontakten när de skapade Walden Media. Inledningsvis var företagets mål att arbeta inom film, tv, tryckta medier och till och med på Internet, dedikerat till att utbilda och underhålla barn och unga. Ägaren till företaget var miljardären Phillip Anshultz , som stödde detta företag , känd för sitt stöd till konservativ kristendom.

2006 sponsrade Walden Media Break the World Reading Record med Charlottes webbkampanj . Vid exakt middagstid den 13 december läste 547 826 personer i 2 451 städer i USA och 28 andra länder ett utdrag från Charlotte's Web, vilket slog det tidigare världsrekordet som sattes 2004 i Storbritannien, när 155 528 elever från 737 skolor samtidigt läste Williams dikt Wordsworth "påskliljor" [2] .

Namn och logotyp

Företaget har fått sitt namn från Walden Pond i Concord , Massachusetts .

Företagets logotyp är en sten som hoppar på dammens vattenyta.
