Samurai Shodown (Samurai Spirits i Japan ) är en serie kampvideospel utveckladeav SNK . Handlingen i spelen i serien utspelar sig i medeltida Japan.
Det första spelet i serien, Samurai Shodown , släpptes i augusti 1993 för en arkadspelsmaskin ( Neo -Geo-plattformen . Det portades senare till vissa videospelskonsoler och fick flera uppföljare, som också ursprungligen släpptes på arkadmaskiner.
Spelen i serien använde 2D-grafik fram till Samurai Shodown 64 , släppt 1997 som ett arkadspel på Hyper Neo-Geo 64- plattformen .
