Viscount Allendale

Viscount Allendale , av Allendale  och Hexham i grevskapet Northumberland ,  är en titel i Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Historik

Titeln Viscount Allendale skapades den 5 juli 1911 för den liberala politikern Wentworth Beaumont, 2nd Baron Allendale (1860–1923). Han var medlem av House of Commons för Hexham (1895–1907), tjänstgjorde som vice kammarherre vid det kungliga hovet (1905–1907), kapten för yeomanry guards (1908–1911) och Lord in waiting (1911–1916) .

Titeln Baron Allendale , av Allendale och Hexham i grevskapet Northumberland ( Peerage of the United Kingdom ) skapades den 20 juli 1906 för hans far, Yorkshire gruvmagnat och liberal parlamentsledamot , Wentworth Beaumont (1829–1907). Den första Viscounts son, Wentworth Henry Canning Beaumont, 2:e Viscount Allendale (1890–1956), tjänstgjorde som Lord Lieutenant of Northumberland (1949–1956).

Från och med 2013 var titelinnehavaren hans barnbarn, Wentworth Peter Ismay Beaumont, 4:e Viscount Allendale (f. 1948 ), som efterträdde sin far 2002 .

• Thomas Wentworth Beaumont (1792–1848), politiker, far till 1:e baron Allendale. Medlem av underhuset för Northumberland (1818-1826, 1830-1832), Stafford (1826-1830) och North Northumberland (1832-1837)
• Den ärade Hubert Beaumont (1864–1922), liberal politiker, tredje son till 1:e baron Allendale. Medlem av underhuset för Eastbourne (1906-1910)
• Timothy Wetworth Beaumont (1928-2008), sonson till den förra, ordförande för det liberala partiet (1967-1968), ordförande för det liberala partiet (1969-1970). 1967 utnämndes han till Baron Beaumont av Whitley.

Familjens bostäder är Bivelle Hall i Bivelle och Stocksfield Hall i Stocksfield i Northumberland . De äger också Bretton Hall i West Yorkshire .
