AGP 3.0 står för spänningsreduktion och maximal teoretisk bandbreddsökning (tillgängliga hastigheter är 4X och 8X, istället för 2X och 4X); själva kärnorna hade inga förändringar (från NV17 till NV18 eller NV25 till NV28). Förutom ökad klockfrekvens och minskad signalsvängspänning (från 1,5 V till 0,8 V) stöder AGP 3.0 fortfarande sidbandsadressering (senare lagt till AGP 1.0-specifikationer, ökad praktisk genomströmning) och snabb skrivning (i AGP 2.0-specifikationer, data registreras direkt i grafikkortets minne).
